Increased Sales for Expired Food
Who would have thought that food way past its due date will sell like hotcakes in today’s economic crisis? In the past, people would not usually think twice throwing out expired or food nearing its expiry date. An online retailer known as, Approved Food has seen their profits increasing through selling expired food. People would scavenge bargains and get the best deal out of their money because of the present tough economy we’re in. Also, in my opinion, a best before date is not an absolute indication that the food is bad. There is usually a time period after the expiry date where you can eat the food safely but make sure you test it first – the taste, smell and the appearance. It is more of a quality issue rather than safety. The food nearing it’s expiry will not taste as good as the ones just manufactured but it’s safe to eat and it’s cheap – you get what you paid for.
